Countdown to ecstasy

mtrushmore.jpg

This is where I’ll be next week.  Well, I won’t be a Mount Rushmore for the entire week because that would be really boring and I don’t think looking at 4 dead presidents carved into the side of a mountain EVERY DAY would be very fun anyway.  So we’ll also be gazing at the Black Hills and the Corn Palace and Devil’s Tower and the Badlands before hoofing it down to Colorado to spend a couple of days at Ken’s family reunion.

Hey, honey, there’s no Happy Hour on the list of “things to do at the family reunion.”  There’s Kid Crafts and Night Owl Conversation (WTF?) and worship time but no Happy Hour.
You know the family doesn’t drink.
You do realize I’ll be bringing a flask, right??
I know.  You’ll probably be the most popular person at Night Owl Conversation.

Dont’ worry, I’ll be bringing the laptop just in case anything really scintillating happens at the Corn Palace or during Night Owl Conversation.

LOL! Kid Crafts and Night Owl Conversation!? Make that a DWTF (double what the F$%k!). Precisely how would that conversaion go anyways:

    “Hoooooott!” [big eyes blinking….]

    “Who, who, who?”

“Hooo oooo ooooo oooo….” [owl spins his head “Exorcist” style…]

    “Hoo…oot!”

Too funny (“Scintillating” as you put it!). Be sure to keep us posted on the Corn Palace too….maybe the owls could rustle up some grub there (when they get the midnight munchies…).

You are going to have a blast! Can’t wait to hear all about your trip!!!!! Nice pic of Rushmore too by the way….

The Dakota’s are beautiful. Take your camera. I know you’ll have a wonderful time. Just think of all the blog material you will be acquiring! The corn palace alone should have enough anecdotes to keep us in stitches for months.

Around the Rapid City area, you’ll be innundated with signage for trinkets, museums, etc. Most aren’t worth the money. Resist them. You Can’t Buy a Thrill.
The Corn Palace is unique & quirky but overall cool to see that much art made from corn.
Try to at least visit the Estes area for just a day. The drive from Loveland to Estes is breathtaking in its beuaty. To miss it would truly be a Royal Scam.
Try to get off the beaten path a little and smell the roses as they say. You wouldn’t want to accused of being Two Against Nature.

    Just my Daily Dan.

Have a great trip you two! Be safe.

“Why do you have to grow beets? Something nobody likes….yecch. Why can’t you have a farm that grows stuff people like? Why don’t you grow candy?”
